Overview
Medieval Realms is an economic euro game designed for 2 to 5 players. Each player assumes the role of a medieval king, making strategic decisions to develop and expand their own realm. The game unfolds over the course of seven rounds, with each round consisting of two distinct phases. In the first phase, players secretly assign their leaders, such as mayors, generals, and admirals, to different locations on their player boards. This generates valuable resources including gold, production, materials, science, culture, religion, and battle points. In the second phase, players use their accumulated resources to acquire cards from the available row. The game features ten different types of cards, including leaders, cities, markets, islands, territories, wars, castles, science, religion, and culture. Three unique card mechanics influence gameplay: bidding, cards held in hand, and majority-based strategies. As the game progresses, players build their realms, optimize their resource management, and compete for dominance. At the end of the final round, victory points are tallied and the player with the highest score is declared the winner.
