Overview
Transform the botanical gardens into a vibrant oasis, teeming with fragrant flowers, lush foliage, and tranquil waters, as you place your gazebos among serene features and atop prized patios. In Gazebo, players take turns positioning premium dominoes on the shared garden map, creating nooks—contiguous terrain spaces of the same type, whether it’s flowers, foliage, or water. When a player forms a nook, they place one of their gazebos on top of it. By connecting the nook to a patio, they claim the patio and can place a gazebo there as well. However, not everything is peaceful in this game of garden landscaping. Larger nooks can absorb smaller ones, and crafty rivals can steal patios away from you. The first player to place all of their gazebos on the board wins! Gazebo builds on Reiner Knizia’s classic game *Qin* and introduces several exciting innovations. The game refines the domino drawing method, reducing luck and adding more strategic tension with single-colored and double-colored dominoes. It also offers a wider variety of gameplay features across both the base game and expansion maps, adding depth and replayability. New strategic elements such as Zen spaces, vases, and pedestals deepen tactical choices, while heightened conflicts with more valuable contested spaces and greater flexibility provide more room for tactical maneuvering. For four players, an exciting new partnership mode debuts, offering fresh ways to team up. Additionally, the game is now more compact and portable, offering a larger experience in a smaller package. The beautifully illustrated garden theme, crafted by Alisha Giroux, broadens the game’s appeal and accessibility. Gazebo is the first official release in Bitewing Games' Travel Line, a series of games designed to be easy to play anywhere, with anyone.
