Overview

The Pirate Code is a deck-building sandbox game where you chart your own legendary path. Every card in your hand offers a choice: use its resource icons to complete contracts, attack rivals, bury treasure, resupply, and more, or discard it to move and potentially activate its unique ability. This constant decision-making is at the heart of the game, as you work to make the most of your crew’s abilities. No two victories in The Pirate Code are ever the same. With countless ways to leave your mark, as Captain, you'll decide which strategies to pursue and when to commit to them. Contracts provide a mix of Victory Points, Coins, and Reputation when completed. Coins can be buried for Victory Points, though other players may try to dig them up. Reputation is tracked throughout the game, rewarding the most Infamous players with valuable points. When the time comes, you may decide to turn your cannons on another player, taking their cargo like a true pirate. If there’s nothing worth stealing, you can always sink their ship and sail off with your spoils. Enhance the effectiveness of your crew through sharp leadership and, at times, tough decisions. Spend Hearts to manage randomness: Red Hearts allow you to recruit new crew members, helping you build the perfect team, while Black Hearts let you reroll dice, transforming missed shots or failed gambles into successes. These choices advance your Captain’s Log, unlocking new abilities for your crew based on your leadership style.
