Overview

KUR-NU-GI is a captivating worker placement game where players embody Souls navigating the perilous darkness of the Sumerian Land of Death. Accompanied by Shadows—both guides and guardians—each Soul strives to stay true to the Path of the Dead and avoid turning back. The objective is to escape back to the World of the Living while accumulating as many Escape Points as possible. To achieve this, players must strategically manage their actions and resources, including Prayers from the living, the mystical power of Vri-ilu, and the divine Graces of Sumerian gods: ANU, the god of heaven; ENLIL, ruler of the skies; NINHURSAG, goddess of the earth; ENKI, god of the waters; and DUMUZID, lord of the underworld. Players can also trigger various conditions to end the game early, adding a layer of strategy to determine how quickly they reach their goals.
