Overview

Koschei, the Deathless is a scenario-based adventure board game steeped in Slavic folklore. Set in a dystopian future, players become heroes on a quest to find and destroy Koschei’s soul, ultimately challenging him to save their homeland. Each game unfolds over distinct scenarios, which can be played individually or as part of a larger campaign, providing a rich narrative experience even upon replay. Players take turns interacting with the environment and overcoming challenges laid out by Koschei, gradually enhancing their decks and resource management skills. The goal is to accumulate fame through exploration, quest completion, and combat, with victory going to the player with the most fame at the end. Gameplay consists of three phases: replenishing resources, moving and interacting during the Day phase, and resting to improve decks at Night. The game offers competitive, cooperative, and solo modes, featuring strategic card management where cards can serve multiple purposes, encouraging clever combinations and tactical depth. With open-world exploration and interactions with iconic characters like Baba Yaga, each scenario presents unique challenges, ensuring high replayability and diverse strategies. Players must skillfully manage resources like Mana, Knowledge, Health, and Fame to navigate the game’s challenges and ultimately defeat Koschei.
