Terraforming Mars: Ares Expedition is an engine-building game where players control corporations aiming to make Mars habitable. Invest mega credits (MC) into project cards to raise your terraform rating (TR) by increasing oceans, oxygen, and temperature. TR determines income and counts as victory points (VP) at the end. The game is played in rounds, with players choosing one of five phases each round, such as building projects, taking actions, producing resources, or researching. All players participate in the chosen phases and receive bonuses for their selected phase. The game ends when Mars has 14% oxygen, 9 ocean tiles, and a temperature of +8°C, making it possible to live on the surface.
